I for one am completely against Michael Cera's career built off of losing his self-respected virginity countless times by way of animatronic passes to hipster girls. I am also tired of films trying to emulate that comic/cartoon pizazz by adding dilapidated quirkiness in an attempt to render a new way for films to be enjoyed. Leave it to Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) to take many failures in the past and revitalize it into something that looks unnaturally epic, for lack of a better word. While based on a simple, simple storyboard, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World seems to finally be a superbly crafted nod to the comic medium. What with stunning visuals, a plethora of onomatopoeia's, and classic arcade format, Scott Pilgrim looks to be a compliment of the senses and (maybe) the poster child for comic adaptations around the world.
